Per Aphrodite's request in desperate need of Medea's assistance, Medea was struck with one of his arrows, causing her to fall in love with Jason, the leader of the Argonauts.
After the Arrow
Medea soon after being struck fell in love with Jason. Throughout the nights, she seemed to see him and heard the words he uttered. She felt shamed because she cared so much for a stranger. She put in her hand a casket which held herbs for killing. She used her magic to help the man she loved. She had an ointment which would make him who rubbed it on his body safe for the day and could not be harmed by anything. Caused by Hera, Medea determined to fly with Jason, bewildered with love and misery. She begged Jason and the rest of them to take her with them.
Medea's Guidance in quest for the Fleece
Medea helped Jason on his quest for the Golden Fleece. They ran unto a serpent whom Medea lulled to sleep so that no harm would be caused upon them. They approached the Fleece after a long treacherous journey where they approached a serpent who guarded the Fleece. Medea approached it and charmed it to sleep through a beautiful song. The last and most daring thing she did for Jason was kill her own brother, Apsyrtus, in order to defend the Argonauts from her brother's army.
Jason's Betrayal of Medea
After the Argonauts return home with the Golden Fleece, Medea is excited to start the rest of her life with Jason. Jason does not only not feel the same, but he totally ignores and disrespects her. Jason married the Princess of Corinth and left Medea and the two sons he had with her. Medea became furious and decided to get revenge. She had her two sons go to Corinth since she was banned from the city to give the princess a robe that melted her flesh as soon as she put it on. Medea then murdered her two sons. Jason became furious and determined to kill her. As he approached her, she was on the roof of a house stepping into a chariot drawn by dragons. They carried her away through the air out of his sight as he cursed her, never himself, for what came to pass.
